Administrative Professionals Mentorship Program
The Millersville University Administrative Professionals Mentorship Program provides a structured approach that allows seasoned administrative professionals (mentors) to transfer institutional knowledge to new and/or developing professionals (mentees) while also collaborating on goal achievement, project completion, or general career guidance.

Program Goals
In addition to supporting Millersville University's strategic direction to "Invest Strategically in People and Place", the purpose of the Administrative Professionals Mentorship Program includes:
- transference of institutional knowledge
- fostering an inclusive environment for newly hired administrative professionals
- relationship building across campus divisions and departments
- enhancing internal and external customer service
- increasing engagement and retention
- providing support for our administrative professionals team
- increasing efficiencies
- recognizing participants
- providing professional development for mentorship pairs.

Mentor-Mentee Eligibility Guidelines
Mentee
- Employees with 0-4 years of administrative professional experience at Millersville University
Mentor
- Employees with two or more years of experience at Millersville University in any administrative capacity

Program Expectations
Mentor-mentee pairs will meet once per month during the period October through April, or a total of seven sessions.
Mentee Expectations
- Initiate the scheduling of mentor-mentee sessions
- Establish and achieve goals
- Proactively prepare for monthly discussions to make effective use of mentor's time
- Employ effective communication practices by actively listening, asking thought-provoking questions, and being open-minded to giving and receiving contructive feedback
Mentor expectations
- Be available and responsive to mentee requests
- Provide guidance to mentee on goal establishment and achievement
- Employ effective communication practices by actively listening, asking thought-provoking questions, and being open-minded to giving and receiving contructive feedback
